You can use your Hunter irrigation controller to activate both the PX and LX transformers. All Hunter controllers come with a pump/master valve (P/MV) terminal that can be used to activate FX’s PXSYNC or the LX transformer. If you use an irrigation controller to activate your transformers with a rain sensor installed, make sure that the controller can be programmed to ignore the rain sensor for your lighting output.

For the PX Transformer, the PXSYNC device installs inside the transformer and accepts a low voltage signal from the controller when activation is scheduled.

For the LX Transformer, the external terminal is used to activate the lighting aspect of the system. The Hunter controller’s P/MV terminal will connect to these terminals for activation, the PXSYNC is not necessary.

Hunter also has a Pro-C FX upgrade panel (Hunter Part #526205) that provides lighting control for the PXSYNC and LX transformer. The Pro-C FX panel upgrade provides lighting control independent of irrigation controller. Up to 3 lighting transformers can be controlled using programs L1, L2, L3. (Use of a single lighting transformer reduces the total number of irrigation stations available by 1). When using the Pro-C FX upgrade panel, the L1, L2, and L3 programs ignore the rain sensor status.
