Replacing the MR-16 lamp in a lighting fixture involves removing a few parts, disconnecting the old lamp from the socket, and installing a new compatible lamp. It’s a straightforward task but requires care to avoid damaging components or wiring.
Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver.
Turn off the power to the lighting transformer completely before disassembling the fixture.
Remove the outer adjustable shroud by loosening the two flathead screws, then pull it straight off. Skip this step if no adjustable shroud is installed.
Remove the base shroud by twisting counterclockwise, then set it aside.
