QL - LED Board Replacement

Replacing an LED board in a lighting fixture involves removing a few parts, disconnecting the old board from the socket, and installing a new compatible board. It’s a straightforward task but requires care to avoid damaging components or wiring.

Tools Required:

  • #2 Philips screwdriver
  • Soft-edged pry device (e.g., small flathead screwdriver)
1

Turn off the power to the fixture completely before disassembling.

2

Remove the four screws from the faceplate with a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

3

Remove any filters from the reflector by turning the filters counter-clockwise and lifting them off of the reflector.

4

Remove the screws holding the reflector and LED board in place and remove the reflector.

5

Using a small, soft-edged prying tool, gently apply downward pressure on one side of the board to lift it. Before proceeding, ensure that the base of the reflector—where the LED was previously mounted—is free of any debris or leftover thermal pad material.

6

Once the LED board is successfully removed, perform this procedure backward to reinstall the replacement LED board. Not all boards will fit in every fixture, so ensure the fixture can accommodate the selected board prior to maintenance. Also, remove any residue left on the fixture from the old LED board prior to installation of the new one. A thermal pad is attached to the bottom of all FX Luminaire LED boards and should be left in place. Compatible LED boards for this fixture include:
